When looking for a new approach to painting, I found Sumi-e, Japanese ink-brush painting, which can be so subtle, beautiful and Zen-like. Studying classical sumi-e artists who are constantly relevant invites me to try my hand at modern interpretations, also with colour, and also Chinese-Japanese calligraphy.
After several years studying Sumi-e, Japanese ink-brush painting, and Japanese calligraphy, including modern interpretations of these beautiful classical arts, I now try my hand also at acrylic, ink sketching, watercolour, collage – whatever appeals and inspires.
