Greg Chiykowski started sketching and drawing at an early age and over the past 40 years has over the years filled numerous sketch books with pencil, ink, watercolour and pastel drawings. For the past 15 years Greg has painted in both watercolour and pastel and been involved in numerous workshops.
The prime inspirations for his art come from a keen interest in outdoor pursuit activities including canoeing, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing. Painting on location holds a particular fascination for Greg and he has had the opportunity to paint in numerous natural settings including; various Ontario Parks, the Nahanni River, the Canadian Rockies, the Maritimes, the American Southwest, Scotland and Portugal. In all of these travels, Greg’s sketchpad, camera and art supplies always accompany him to capture the many facets of the natural landscape.
