Drawing and painting urban streetscapes can appear to be a complex and overwhelming exercise at
first; however when we study a scene and break down the overall into smaller, manageable
components, with an understanding of their relationship with each other, we can then reassemble
back easily to the complete picture of a dramatic painting.
In our four-evening workshop, we will increase our comfort level with drawing these scenes by
studying form, light, shapes, composition, colour, brushwork, etc.
Subjects covered: Form, Light, Colour, Perspective, Buildings, Trees, Clouds
The following is a suggested plan for our four-evening workshop; this outline could be changed to
accommodate your wishes for individual outcomes.
The format for each day will be based on Andrew doing a 10 minute demo and artists paint for 30
minutes, with review, feedback and guidance.
Andrew will be providing constant support, feedback and guidance for the entirety of the workshop.
