Gordon Coulthart
Gord grew up on a dairy farm near Morewood Ont. He was always interested in drawing and especially cartoons. After graduating from Algonquin college in advertising art he found his dream job with a local animation company in 1977.
Gord worked his way into the Background dept and worked on many animated tv series and movies including , Heavy Metal, The Raccoons, Beavis and Butthead, The Simpsons, CareBears , to name a few. In 2001 he Created his own Cartoon series called King , a 52 half hour series that played world wide and was featured on Family Channel in Canada.
While working in animation Gord co created the syndicated newspaper panel “Farcus” that ran in over 500 newspapers world wide.
In 2010 Gordon started painting landscapes , and has had many one man shows in the Ottawa , and continues painting to this day , Gord is passionate about the outdoors and loves to capture the beauty of the Ottawa and Gatineau area.
