2 days of inspiration and innovation where brushstrokes radiate with luminescent light and the brilliant hues of the Canadian and worldwide landscapes.
Dominik Modlinski’s work reflects his travel into remote areas of fast diminishing earth’s wilderness. The sources of his ingenuity are the never-ending supply of material that nature affords and the realities of our endangered environment.
The workshop is aimed for intermediate to advance artists who wish to expand their knowledge of oil and acrylic painting techniques while enhancing their perception and creative visualization.
Dominik will address the principals of painting using just three primary colours that strengthen student’s understanding of correct colour ratios and principals of colour contrasts. The simplicity of this approach will give students the freedom and understanding of colour mixing, which leads to harmonious and successful paintings.
We will intensely study and mix unlimited colour hues using triadic principals. There will be emphasis of the economy of brush movements to keep colours clean and saturated while traveling from one hue to another.
Dominik will demonstrate principals of complementary colour contrast, utilizing semi neutral pallet for harmonious and exiting compositions. In the l second half of the day, we will create few smaller paintings using the principals of complementary colour contrast.
Dominik will demonstrate principals of analogous colour scheme, utilizing adjacent and closely related colour for harmonious theme. In the l second half of the day, we will create few smaller paintings using analogous colours harmonies.
Dominik will demonstrate principals of split-complementary colour scheme, utilizing its vibrancy and simplicity. In the l second half of the day, we will create few smaller paintings using split-complementary colour scheme.
Students will leave the workshop with many colour theory exercises, which then they can display in their studio for quick references.
During the breaks, Dominik will share with you some of his painting journeys adventures through his films and TV series.
